Ayutthaya

With over 1,700 temples, it was probably the most splendid and richest city and still radiates a special charm today with its many old temples in tropical surroundings. Ayutthaya is located on an island at the confluence of three rivers: Maenam Chao Phraya, Pa Sak and Lop Buri, about 70 kilometres north of the capital Bangkok.
